Inkjet 3830
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Computer has previously worked fine on Windows 7.  Bought a new laptop, Windows 10 - have passed through every step of the troubleshooter... Printer is definitely connected to the network, passed every test, but still can't connect to this computer.  It's baffling!  I have never had issues installing a printer, it's always an afterthought.

Please give ideas.  I really need to finish a print project!

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Forums.

Can you download and install the FULL feature printer software from HP for your operating system:

The following resource will help you :

http://123.hp.com/us/en/

Key in your printer model, Operating System and download & install the FULL feature software.

This document will show you how to setup the printer wirelessly:

Hope that helps.

Thanks for responding.

That's the software I originally installed.  I went through every step, and every step of the troubleshooter.  Additionally, I temporarily turned off the firewall and approved the network through McAffee.  The printer shows up in the network as online, but I can't install it!  The strangest thing I've ever had happen!!

Hi,

Have you tried to connected via USB first then convert to Wireless?

(please do not plug in the USB cable until prompted to do so by the software)

These examples will show you how it's done:

HP Envy 4520 Download and install software and connect with USB connection- Part 1

HP Envy 4520 Convert a USB connected printer to Wireless Connection – Part 2

(Different printer but the steps are the same)

Thanks.
