Getting the error "Remove and reinstall the indicated ink cartridge, making sure it is correctly installed, and then touch ok" I have tried all off the steps listed in your standard trouble-shooting and nothing is working, so please don't just send that link. Is there anything else we can try short of disposing of this printer and buying a new non-HP product?

As I understand you are having trouble with your printer. Don't worry as I have a few steps to help you get through this concern,

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:

Did you make any changes on the printer before the issue started?

Are you using genuine HP ink cartridges or refilled cartridges?

Do you get this error message on the printer screen or on the computer screen?

In the meantime, let's start off by performing a Hard reset on the printer and make sure that the printer is connected directly to the wall outlet and not to the surge protector.

Remove all the ink cartridges and then try to perform a hard reset on the printer.

With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

Remove USB cable, if present.

Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.

Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord and then plug back the power cord to the printer.

Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.

Now insert the ink cartridges and then try to print a test page and check if it works.

Please follow the steps 2, 3, 4 in the support document for - HP ENVY 5640, 5660, 7640 and Officejet 5740, 8040 e-All-in-One Printer Series - A 'Cartridges Missin...

Please respond to this post with the details and results of the troubleshooting steps for further assistance.

Eagerly waiting for your response!

I hope you have a good day ahead,

And Feel free to ask your queries as this forum has some of the best people in the world available and ready to help.

As I mentioned in my original post, we have already tried ALL of your solutions listed on your trouble shooting guide, including a hard reset of the printer. It didn't work with the instructions you gave below either.IMG_3351.JPG

They are genuine HP cartridges, there were no changes made to the printer before the error appeared, and the error appeared on the printer.

Thank you,

I went to your link in Step 1, did Step 2, but there is no place on the site that I can see a "Still need help" link
