I understand that you would like to know how to know how to disable the wifi on the HP Laserjet pro M102w printer. 

There would be a wireless button on the printer as shown in the below image. Please press this button to turn the wireless feature on or off.

I want to be able to prevent my M102w from broadcasting. When I turn the wifi off, using the button on the printer, I can still see the printer as a wireless device to connect to. It only goes away when I power the printer off completely. How can I keep the printer from broadcasting?

I reviewed your post and I understand that you want to disable SSID board casting on the printer.

I’d love to help!

You can disable it from the front panel wireless settings or you can log into the printer web page (EWS) and disable it from there.

Thanks for stopping by the HP Support Forums.  After reading your post I see that you need assistance with getting the IP address of your printer. It will be a delight to assist you here.

Superb analysis and brilliant diagnosis of the issue before posting. Kudos to you on that score. 🙂  

 For better clarity and to assist you better I would require more information regarding this:

• Did you try printing the network configuration page?
• Did you check the user manual of the printer?
• What is the Operating system associated with the printer?

For now, try these steps:

• Please perform a hard reset on the printer from this link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-laserjet-pro-m102-printer-series/9365392/model/9365394/docum...  and follow instructions from the section “Step 2: Reset the printer”
• Then restore factory defaults on the printer by following directions from page 73 of the user guide.
• Then from this user manual: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05172884 get the IP address of the printer. Refer to page 58 for steps on how to do it.

• Also, refer to pages 93 – 96 to solve wireless related issues. This should do the trick for you.

Perform all these steps patiently as it is critical to resolving the issue. Good luck to you. I will keep a watch for your response.  Please note that I am not overloading you with steps but instead, giving you more information to work with. We are as eager as you are to get the issue fixed. I request you to perform all these steps till the issue is fixed.

Is there to get the address without reseting the printer ?

What is the factory default address of model 102W?

I read your response. Thanks for the update. 

I have given you links for the user manual. You don't need to reset the printer to factory defaults although that will help a great deal.

Please visit page 58 of the user manual and follow instructions on how to obtain the IP address of the printer. Performing a hard reset on the printer will not cause any loss of printer settings. There is no factory default address for the printer. It is a private address for your own network. It depends on what address is assigned to the printer by your private home wireless network. Only You should be aware of it. So to get that information, check page 58 of the user manual. It gives you complete information.
