Error 3: Failed to Copy Port Monitor Files [Windows 10 - HP Deskjet 2540 all-in-one]

Product Name: HP Deskjet 2540 all-in-one
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello

 

I keep getting an error when I try to install the driver (latest version) for my HP Deskjet 2540 (WIndows 10).

I even tried with the Download and Install Assistant, with no succes.

Every help is welcome! Thanks!

Did you try the built-in Windows 10 driver?

Yes, I did. I am able to print and make scans.

But I want to use the HP driver and software. For the network configuration for instance.

Thanks! The firmware has been updated.

Unfortunately I get the same error…

Yes, Norton 360 Online.

Good idea! I disabled it (auto-protect function) and tried it again.

But no luck: installation of the driver failed again.

Click here to download Windows 10 printer troubleshooter from Microsoft servers.

After downloading it, double-click on the file to run it, select Printer from the list and then click Next button to begin the troubleshooting.

I ran the printer troubleshooter. No problems were found!

Try running the program in compatibility mode.
