MacBook Pro

Photosmart Premium 310a

OS 10.7.4

Error message "Print service is not available." when trying to open from the dock printer icon.

No changes made that I am aware of except Software update for HP printer about 2 weeks ago.

Hi there hjm2,

Try this article from the apple support knowledgebase. It seems resetting the print system can usually resolve this issue.
