Recently bought a Envy 4500 all in one printer that my son installed. Everything works except for one thing on my excel spreadsheets.

1. Every horizontal line is not printing, so I get larger boxes with two lines of print within.

Thanks for your help....pjh

And maybe another workaround:

"In Page Layout tab to "Scale to Fit" and change 100% to 99%. This worked for me."

Something to try might be going into Page Setup after selecting Print, then searching for Print Gridlines under the Sheet tab.

FYI
Seeing as you have an Envy 4500 you may be interested in the HP Instant Ink program...

Don't think that's it. Everything is scored properly and it worked with my previous Lexmark printer. Also all lines show when you do Print Preview, but then half disappear when printing. I suspect it's on the printer side ??? pjh

Thanks for the promo but that doesn't solve my problem. All the lines show correctly when I do Print Preview but when it comes out of the printer, every other horizontal line is missing... pjh

Probably more reading than you want to do (and not sure if you're using Excel 2010), but I found this:

http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/office/forum/office_2010-excel/in-excel-2010-cannot-get-gridlines...

And maybe the Reader's Digest version of a solution?

After much wailing and gnashing of teeth, and a small rain forest later this suggestion works:

On existing Excel 2010 Spreadsheets

In the Excel 2010 document, Print Preview and Print>Printer Properties>Advanced>Document Options>Print Optimizations: change setting to Disable. Save the file.

Hopefully to work on new Excel 2010 Spreadsheets

My computer>printers, or printers and devices>printer preferences, change 'Printer Optimization' from 'Enabled' to 'Disabled', then apply.

Fingers crossed this will work on new spread sheets.

Hi

I know this is a while back, but just wondering if it got resolved? Is the print quality ok when using other applications, such as Word? Does it seem to be an issue with the black cartridge? If so, what is the warranty ends date on it?

Thanks

Ciara

Hi folks

Do you know what the warranty ends dates is on the cartridges? (YYYY/MM/DD)

Fantastic, many thanks inimitable395, I have been hunting high and low for a solution to my missing alternate gridlines.

I have an HP3050A printer with Windows 8 and Excel2013. Changing the Scaling Factor to 99% worked for me too.
