Solved!

Fax Failure

Is the 'fax Failure"  message on the display when you turn on the product or is it only when you try to send/receive a fax?

Another thing you can try is to go to the setup wrench and arrow over to "tools" and press enter and arrow over until you see "run fax test"  and press ok.. This will give us alot more information.

thanks

Solved!

Fax Failure

Hi,

I believe that the fax hardware might have a problem. Please follow these steps to try and fix it:

1. Disconnect the telephone cord from the back of the product.
2. Unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet, and then unplug the power cord from the back of the product.
3. Wait 60 seconds.
4. Plug the power cord into the electrical outlet, and then plug the power cord into the back of the product.
NOTE: Do not reconnect the telephone cord.

5. Press the Power button to turn on the product.
6. Run the fax diagnostic test by pressing Setup>Tools>Run Fax Test.

And let us know the result of the fax test as mentioned in the Fax Test Report that prints out.

Solved!

Fax Failure

You should first try running a fax test to help pinpoint the problem. Please follow the steps below from the front panel of your L7580.

Press Set Up

Press Right arrow until you reach the "tools" menu

Press OK

press the Right arrow until you reach "run fax test"

This should produce a report with a "Pass" or "Fail" on each of the fax components with instructions on steps to follow for each "Fail".

Additional steps can be found here: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01458259

Solved!

Fax Failure

By unplugging the printer for 30+ sec and pushing and holding the # and 3 button that will reset it.

But BEFORE i suggest doing that, i would make sure the printer is plugged directly into the wall.
