My issue has become quite frequent...at least 3 times whenever I'm doing scanning.  When using the flatbed scanning glass, the image bar does not go all the way to the right to scan the full page.  It stops about 2 inches from the right so every document gets cut off.  I've tried the reset by removing the plug from the computer, unplugging from the wall, waiting 60 seconds (actually waited over 24 hours a time or two).  There are times when doing this resolves the issue, but not always.  I'm at my wits end and am unable to find anything in the manual or online to fix this problem.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

This is a great location to get assistance! I read your post and see that the scanner light on your HP Officejet 8600 printer does not scan completely to the right. I would like to help you resolve this issue.

Preform the Hard reset again.

  • Remove the power cable from the printer when it is turned on.
  • Press and hold the power button for 60sec.
  • Connect the power cable to printer and directly to the wall outlet.
  • Turn on the printer.
  • Make sure the printer is connected directly to the wall outlet.
  • And try to scan again.

Let me know how it goes.

Cheers.
