Won't let me print with my Black Cartridge unless I purchase a color one.  I never print in color.  Always black ink only.  But HP forces me to purchase color cartridges in order to use the Black cartridge.  So tell me, where does all the expensive colored ink go if I am not printing anything with it?  Also, why does HP have to block all printing by requiring  the installation of a cartridge that I don't even use?  Only one possible answer.  They force me to buy ink I don't need.  And then HP has the nerve to warn me againts "ransomware".  What do you think the color ink charge is? I say it's Ransom.

This is my last HP printer.  HP does not appreciate loyalty.  All about money.

Welcome to HP Support Forum. To protect itself from damages, it needs all inks. How do you setup to print Black Ink Only ? If you wish to print Black only a monochrome laser printer is a very cheap to run.

Regards.
