I purchased HP78XL cartridge from the official site. Product expiry date 20160717.
My printer hp psc 750 xi works perfectly with HP78. This is the first time I've purchased 78XL.
But printer does not recognize the cartridge...... keeps saying "put in color cartridge".
I've cleaned both the printer and the cartridge as explained by the previous folks, but still no use.
I spent >$100 on this thing. Help!

Hello, @Rudy00 - Hope you are well 🙂
Thanks for stopping by the HP Support Forums! I'd like to be of your assistance!
I understand that you are having issues while using the HP 78XL cartridge on your printer. Did you try the steps listed here: http://hp.care/2qSk1KW
If the issue still persists, then the cartridge might be defective. I'd suggest you contact the HP phone support to get the cartridge checked or replaced.
You can visit http://www.support.hp.com/contact-hp and fill in your product details to get the tech support number.
(1) Once the support page opens please select the country in which you're located. Next, enter your HP model number on the right.
(2) Next, choose the 'Contact Support' tab at the top and scroll down to the bottom of the 'HP Support- Contact' page to fill out the form provided with your contact information.
(3) Once completed click the 'Show Options' icon on the bottom right.
(4) Lastly, scroll down to the bottom of the page and select 'Get phone number.' A case number and phone number will now populate for you.
If you have any troubles, let me know and I will do my best to help!
Good luck 🙂

Thanks for the response.
I did everything as suggested to clean the print cartridge and the printer, but the printer still couldn't recognize the cartridge.
I followed your link to contact support. However, it says my printer HP750xi is no longer supported because it's older than 10 years.
I bought the original HP78XL cartridge in April 2015 from the official HP site. I didn't get to use it until recently.
Can I return the cartridge more than 2 years after I bought it?
