PSC 2355 All-in-One

Hi guys,

I have an HP PSC 2355 All-in-One which I didn't use for a while, it's been well packed and put away while it was perfectly working.

Today, after some years, I tried to use again but there's something wrong, because when I plug it in the little screen shows a grid instead of the HP logo (see below image) and none of the buttons work, I can't even turn it on.

As I previously said the printer has been packed, it's not damaged, and nobody ever touched it since it's been put away.

Does anybody have an idea of what cold have happened and why? And any possible solution?

Thanks a lot!

@Alessandro88,

Welcome to HP Forums, this is a great place to get support, find answers and tips.

 Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you.

I understand that you are unable to get the HP logo on the printer screen instead there is a grid.

This issue could occur if the printer is in error state.

Let's go through a few steps to troubleshoot this issue.

Please follow the step by step guide to reset the printer:

1.Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.
2.Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
3.With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
4.Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
5.Wait at least 60 seconds.
6.Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
NOTE: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.
7.Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
8.Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on. The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.
9.Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Let me know how this works.

You have a good day ahead.

Hi @Rainbow23 and thanks for the answer, but I need a clarification about the first point, 1.Turn the printer on, if it is not already on: as I wrote in the first message none of the buttons work, including the "On" button, so practically once I plug in the power cord the screen automatically turns on (showing the grid) but I can't turn on the printer. Should I consider the printer as already turned on when there is the grid or that's a different think?

Because otherwise I don't know how I could turn it on. Thanks again! :Wink:

@Alessandro88,

Thank you for your reply, I'll be more than glad to help you.

I understand that you wanted to confirm if the printer needs to be turned on even though it is on.

If the printer turn on when you plugin the cable then you need to disconnect the power cable and follow the steps mentioned in the previous post.

Let me know if this works.

You have a good day ahead.

Hi @Rainbow23,

I tried as you suggested but unfortunately didn't work, the printer keeps showing the grid as soon as I plug in the cable but the printer isn't actually on because it doesn't warm up, doesn't make any noise nor movement :Crying:

@Alessandro88,

Thank you for your reply, I'll be more than glad to help you.

I understand that the issue has not resolved after following the steps mentioned in the previous interaction.

This could be a hardware issue with the unit.

Hence, please contact HP Phone Support for further assistance at the link: www.hp.com/contacthp
