HP 4630
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

After startup the machine will scroll through all selections on the menu screen as long as the printer is powered on.  It will only print pages sent by the computer.  Cannot copy, scan, etc because I am unable to select any option as it is in a continious state of scrolling through all selections.  While scrolling it is makng a beep, beep type noise.  I have made no changes, updates, etc.   I have uninstalled, reinstalled, updated with latest software.  Any ideas about this problem or has it reached the end.

Thanks

Welcome to HP Support Forums. 🙂 I came across your post and would like to help.

I understand that you have an HP Officejet 4630 e-All-in-One Printer. I read that when the printer is powered on, the screen will scroll through all selections on the menu screen by itself. It is a continues process. The printer also makes a beeping noise. I read further that you are unable to copy and scan because the options on the printer cannot be selected as it is scrolling. Not worry, I'll do my best to help you.

I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix:

  • Disconnect the power cable from the printer while the printer is still ON.
  • Disconnect any other cables if connected the printer.
  • Press and hold the printer’s power button for 15 seconds.
  • The printer should be directly connected to the wall outlet and not to a surge protector. Reconnect the power cable to print and the printer should power ON by itself. If the printer doesn’t power ON then please manually power it ON.

If the printer continues to have a scrolling display then I suggest you to perform a reset on the printer. I have sent you a private message with the reset steps. This will also disconnect the printer from the wireless network and you will have to reconfigure it again.

I hope this information helps. Please feel free to let me know. All the best! 🙂
