HP 4700n error 49.4CF2

Good day to all.

I have an old 4700n printer which was working fine a few days ago, then someone from our office tried to update the firmware of the 4700n, I don't know what else have this guy do to the printer but now it's just not working, when I try to plug it in into the network it gave me the 49.4CF2 error, so I managed to connect it trough a cross cable, I can see the web interface of the printer but when I try to update the firmware (in case the one that my co-worker put in the first place was corrupted) It tells me that the action was aborted due some errors I'm totally lost I have searched trough the web and tried to update the firmware via ftp with no success.

Thanks in advance for the Help

Re: HP 4700n error 49.4CF2

Hello, so if I am understanding correctly, off the network, and connected to a laptop off the network the machine is fine? But when you connect to the network it gets the 49 error code? If this is the case try clearing the print que but before hand check which print job was the one that was set to print first. Once you clear the que have the user try and print that same job again, if the error comes back then my guess it would be the file. In regards to the firmware update, what version does the machine currently have? And have you tried using the easy firmware upgrade utility, if not I would try using that one but off the network connected straight to a laptop.

Hope this helps....
