HP 6830 will not scan

Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I purchased an HP 6830 ten days ago. I loaded the software and have connected the printer to my computer via USB - the connection for the USB is on the back of the printer, not the front. When I attemtp to Scan, I have to use the HP Scan Print Doctor. It takes between 5 and 7 minutes for the "Computer to communicate with the printer".  I continue to get an error message to unplug the printer, plug in the printer, power it up and restart the computer. I've had to interupt my work six times in the last two days to do this. I deleted all the software and reloaded it from the CD provided with the printer. Also, when I print anything it usually takes about a minute for the printer to respond and then I get an error message "The printer cannot communicate with your computer"...even though the document prints.

 

I threw away a new HP printer the day I purchased this one...and I'm getting close to doing it again.

Hi,

Thanks for using the forum.

Can you download and install the FULL feature printer software from HP for your operating system:

 

http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-officejet-pro-6830-e-all-in-one-printer-series/53...

Once you have downloaded and installed the FULL feature software, you will be able to print and scan.
