Hey everyone,

My HP Deskjet 1050 J410 on Windows 7 64bit is unable to print documents in black and white, even after selecting the option to do so. There are no error messages, and the diagnostic tool on the HP website can't solve this too.

Your help is appreciated.

Hi kamikazemonkey,

When did the printer stop printing documents using the black ink cartridge?

Did you just replace the cartridge with a new one?

Hi pcwizard,

It has never printed a black and white document before, even when I first got it.

Hi kamikazemonkey,

Print a self test page, and then scan and attach it to this post for me to review.

Hi kamikazemonkey,

I guess i don't understand the problem you are having as the test page has been printing with the black cartridge. Are you referring to the top of some of the text being cut off?

Hi pcwizard,

When I want to print a document and when I select black and white, the document will always print in colour.

Thanks.

Hi i am having this problem

when i print some of the text is being cut off on the top of the text, therefore not printing entire line, making it difficult to read.

Hi happsy,

Are the cartridges new HP OEM or remanufactured cartridges?

Have you tried replacing the cartridges with new ones?
