HP Deskjet continues to print one or two pages as if the cartridge were new

I am really upset. I buy a new cartridge, and I don´t get to print much over 10 pages and my HP deskjet starts acting up. It keeps saying if I want to buy a new cartridge and keeps printing pages and pages trying to line up  etc. Why does HP makes me use my brand new cartridge just printing test page? It´s really frustrating. I don´t find a way to tell this stupid machine that the cartridge is brand new and to stop printing these pages.
