I can print from the internet (like my bank account) but I can't print a word document or copy anything, what could be blocking me from printing my resume?

Hey there! @Paigegib, Welcome to HP forums.

I understand you have issues printing from word and you are unable to make a copy from your printer.

Don't worry I will try to help you out.

Did you make any changes to your printer?

As you mentioned you are unable to make a copy from your printer try the steps recommended below.

Resetting the printer can force some types of scanners to calibrate which might fix the problem.
Remove any items from the scanner glass and automatic document feeder (ADF), then close the scanner lid.
With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the printer and from the wall outlet or power strip.
Wait at least 60 seconds.
Plug the power cord back into a wall outlet.
   NOTE:
HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to a wall outlet.
Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
Load the original document or photo, then try to copy.

Also, try the steps mentioned below to fix printing issues.

Please uninstall and reinstall the printer software on your PC and check if it helps.

1. Navigate to Start >Type Devices and Printers in the Search > Select it from the results

2. Highlight your printer object and Right Click

3. Choose Remove Device

4. Highlight something else from the list

5. Click the Print Server Properties button from the toolbar

6. Select the Drivers Tab

7. Highlight the appropriate print driver

8. Click Remove

9. Check the Remove Driver and Driver Package option when prompted

10. Click OK

Please update the printer software using this link.

Let me know if this helps!

Have a great day ahead! 🙂
