No matter what I do, I cannot get this printer to print only in black ink. I'm printing out a number of black and white photo documents and I hate the purpley hue that comes from the colour cartridges trying to make black; I simply want a greyscale image. I've tried every dialogue box on the printer screen itself, I've tried settings on my Mac, I've tried clicking "black and white" in the print dialogue box from photoshop / microsoft word / preview. Nothing. Every time it prints in that awful purpley blue instead of black. Any suggestions??

Of course, 5 minutes after I post this I finally discover a solution: simply remove the colour cartridge from the printer. This forces it to print in single cartridge mode. I'll leave this up here in case anyone else has the same problem I did!
