Hey @surmvoise,

Welcome to the HP Support Forums!

I see that you are having some issues with scanning from your Laserjet M1132 Printer to your Mac OSX 10.11 machine. I can help you with that.

To start, make sure the printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet and not a surge protector. Once done:

  1. If the printer is connected through a USB cable to your Mac, remove it.
  2. Click on your Apple icon, System Preferences, and Printers and Scanners.
  3. Hold down the control key and click on the icon of your printer on the left.
  4. Click on Reset Printing System.

Now if you removed the USB cable, connect it. If not:

  1. Click on the plus button in the bottom left corner.
  2. Select your printer from the list.
  3. Click in the box next to Use and select your printer from the list.
  4. Click on Add.

Please let me know the results after following the above. If you can scan correctly, please click on Accept Solution. If you appreciate my help, please click on the thumbs up icon. Both icons are below this post.

Thanks for your help but your tips didn't work out. Image Capture is still scanning a US letter format and not A4. Any other tips here? Could the printer's firmware be the problem? Its date says 20130211. But how can update it?

And btw I have a LaserJet M1217nfw MFP.

Image Capture is related to your operating system rather than the printer. You may get more scanning control by clicking on your Apple icon, System Preferences, and Printers and Scanners. From here click on Scan on the right.

Please let me know if doing this allows you to scan in A4.

If you are not seeing any other options, the next step would be to contact Apple to determine why you are not seeing the option when using their software.

Please let me know the results after contacting Apple.
