HP Network Communicator has stopped working

HP Recommended

I repeatedly get the error message, HP Network Communicator Has Stopped Working. When the window pops up it must be closed six times before it stops and then pops back up shortly thereafter.

Problem signature:

Problem Event Name: APPCRASH

Application Name: HPNetworkCommunicator.exe

Application Version: 28.0.1315.0

Application Timestamp: 507e96b6

Fault Module Name: ntdll.dll

Fault Module Version: 6.2.9200.16579

Fault Module Timestamp: 51637f77

Exception Code: c0000005

Exception Offset: 0000000000059a85

OS Version: 6.2.9200.2.0.0.768.101

Locale ID: 1033

I have used HP Print and Scan Doctor which tells me there is a driver problem and to unplug and reboot. I have done this many times and it does not help. Ink level notifications have been set to 'only when I print' and scan to computer has been disabled (It won't scan to computer anyway). I have also updated, uninstalled and reinstalled the software as suggested in the customer support forum, but to no avail.

Is there any way to fix this problem or should I just return it and buy another brand?

I see from Google searches that HP has had this problem for several years, why not just fix it?

Hello,

I got the excact same error as you. I searched long for a solution, and uninstalling - reinstalling the HP Officjet Pro 8600 software didn't help.

I solved the problem eventually by deleting/uninstalling all the software of my Logitech QuickCam Communicate STX webcam.

It seems there was a driver confilct.

Uninstalling the webcame software solved my problem completly, reinstalling the HP printer software after that wasn't even necessary.  I installed the last version of the Logitech webcame software, and these version haden't the problem I got frist.

It is a strange problem: the Logitech Webcame software (old version) and the HP software worked togheter smootly for years, but out of the nothing the problem arsose.

Information about the error i got (sorry, it is in Dutch/Nederlands):
