OfficeJet 4652
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

Hello, earlier today my printer decided not to print black ink. It prints everything but black. I've tried selecting "clean cartridges" and putting new paper in. Please help.

Hello, @Cromer55 - Greetings!

Thanks for stopping by the HP Support Forums! It is a great place to find the help you need, from other users, HP experts, and other support personnel.

I see that you are getting issues while printing black on your HP Officejet 4652 printer. I'd definitely try my best to help you find a solution 🙂

Let's start by cleaning the print head on your Officejet 4652 printer. Here are the steps:

  1. Make sure to load the input tray with plain, white paper.

  2. On the printer control panel, swipe the display to the left, then touch Setup.

  3. Touch Tools, then touch Clean Cartridges.

  4. Examine the print quality on the Print Quality Diagnostic report.

  5. If the print quality is acceptable, click No. You can stop troubleshooting.

  6. If the print quality is unacceptable, click Yes when prompted to perform the next level of cleaning. You might need to perform the cleaning 2-3 times.

Here are some additional steps that you can try to fix this issue: http://hp.care/2nxlgBJ

If still can’t get black ink printed, then try using an alternate black cartridge on your printer and check.

Let me know how that goes. Good luck!

Cheers 🙂
