HP OfficeJet J6480

Hello,

My HP OfficeJet J6480 just died all of a sudden while printing.

I made sure the power outlet was functional and tried different ones, but no luck.

I hold the On/Off switch for several seconds after plugging it into a functional outlet, but no light comes on the printer. I disconnected the power cable for a few minutes and reconnected it and still no luck. It is just bizarre.

There is no way to figure out if the power adapter with the highly proprietary connector is bad.

Thanks.

Does the power module that is connected to the power cord have a little green LED light on it?

If the light is lit then the module likely isn't the issue. If it is not lit then the power module may need to be replaced.

Though I may work for HP, my opinion is my own.

The troubleshooting steps in this document may help resolve the issue of the Offciejet 6480 not powering on.  You could also check the output voltage with a voltmeter if you have access to one.

Is the power outlet itselft working?  Maybe a fuse was blown?

I performed all the steps from the video, but it did not help. Also, the power module that is connected to the power cord DOES NOT have a little green LED light. The Power Module number is 0957-2178. Where can I get a replacement? If it doesn't work, can I return it?

The part can be ordered from the HP Parts Store, although I generally pick up the power supplies on eBay.
