HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus clanking really bad

HP Recommended

Unit recently starting clanking really bad during printing...to the point where it stops...I have to remove the duplexer in the back, reinstall, and then it goes again for awhile.  Getting worse...unit is about a year old.  Sounds like it is in the printer cartridge carriage.

Hello RonStrasburg50, and welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!

I see you are having issues with your printer making a lot of noise.  I would love to assist with that!

First, I would suggest a power reset. Disconnect the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug the printer back in. Ensure you plug the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any sort of surge protector or power bar.

Second, I would suggest following this document on The Product Makes Noise when Printing.

Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting steps. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!
