OfficeJet Pro 8710
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Until recently my OfficeJet Pro 8710 was printing on 110lb cardstock without a problem. Now it cuts off/does not print the first two inches. The print is shifted to the left (landscape print job) leaving an extra two inches blank on the right. I set the paper type to Heavy Plain Paper (it does not have a card stock option). I tried cleaning all of the roller as described on an HP support page for paper jams.

I bought this printer to print certificates on card stock. I know many other have had this problem and I am reluctant to ditch an HP printer that is less than a year old. Any other ideas?

@hbscouter,

Welcome to HP Forums, this is a great place to get support, find answers and tips.

Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you.

I understand that you are unable to print on 110lb cardstock as it does not print the first two inches on the card.

This issue could occur if the paper pick rollers are not in sync with the printing mechanism.

Let's go through a few steps to troubleshoot this issue.

And here's the step by step guide for you in the link: http://hp.care/2q3EQW1

If the issue still persists, then it could be a hardware issue with the paper pick rollers and hence, you may need to contact HP Phone Support for further assistance at the link: www.hp.com/contacthp

You have a good day ahead.
