HP Officejet Pro 6830
Microsoft Windows 8 (64-bit)

When I orignally installed my HP 6830 all-in-one printer, all went well, for nearly a year.  Recently, I attempted to use the unit to scan and the scan head goes back and forth and pops in the process.  Of course an error message follows:  "Turn the printer off, then on again.  If the problem persist, the scanner has become damage and connot copy or scan."  The unit has been in the same place, not moved for over a year.  What gives?  Help please-

As I understand the HP OfficeJet 6830 doesn't scan or copy anymore,

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

Have you checked any related HP Forums post that has a similar solution?

If you haven't, Here's a related HP Forums post that seems to have helped others: Click here for the steps.
