My photo black ink is almost gone yet i have never printed any pictures

Hi,

 

I believe your setup is to print in Grayscale. Printing in Grayscale printer needs to mix all color inks and photo black together.

 

If you wish to use Black Ink Only (the fatter or wider black ink cartridge) you need to tell your printer. Please try,

 

(a) Double click printer icon on desktop,

(b) Select Set Preferences,

(c) Select Advanced,

(d) Under Grayscale, please select Black Ink only,

(e) Click Ok/Apply
