Remove and replace cartridges does not fix

I would try performing an Ink System Reset on this printer.  This is to make sure that the ink system internal information has been refreshed and all contacts are clean/secure.  For information on how to perform an ink system reset click here.

 

As well, take a look at the product series specific information found in the document located here.  The document covers troubleshooting the printer when the cartridge light is flashing and one receives the message to check the printer cartridges.
