HP Photosmart C4280 All-In-one Scans won't Save to computer

HP Recommended
HP Photosmart C4280 All-in-One
macOS 10.12 Sierra

I have been able to use the c4280 to print and to scan docutments however the problem comes when I try to save the scanned document to my desk top or send the file anywhere. The image of the scanned document is on the Scanner Software, but as soon as I send it anywhere as either a PNG or a PDF the file appears as empty or corrupted. Then it posts a box saying the following:

"An error has occurred saving the file because it could not be written to.  Check the properties for the file to make sure it is not read-only."

I can change the properties of a saved file, but the data is not transfering into the file. Does anybody know what I need to do to fix this?

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Forums.

Can you try this:

From the Applications folder delete any existing HP Scan or HP Easy Scan app.
Delete HP Scan or HP Easy Scan by moving it to trash, then empty the trash.

Ensure the latest software is installed, use this link for your printer:

macOS X : HP Easy Scan

Also, make sure that your drivers are up to date

> Click on the Apple icon, select About this Mac and then press Software Update
>Click Store on the top menu bar, click Reload Page, click Update All if any updated are available.

Hope that helps!
