For mac 10.6.6
Download up to date driver
Step 1. Uninstall the printer drivers.
1. On the desktop, double-click the Macintosh Hard Drive icon, click Applications, and then click Hewlett-Packard.
2. Double-click the HP Uninstaller. The HP Uninstaller opens.
3. Click Continue.
4. Select the HP product to remove, and then click Uninstall.
5. When prompted, type the Administrator name and Password, and then click OK.
6. When the Uninstaller finishes, drag any icons for the product to the Trash.
7. Restart Mac
8. Install up to date driver.
9. scan works!

I didn't use the CD installer but downloaded the new printer driver from the web--very easy. My printer scans when I open HP webscan page (which is laborious). However, there is no scan dialog box that I can find to open, and so cannot place the image I have scanned, which I can see on my screen, onto my desktop or email it to anyone, etc. It simply disappears if I try anything. So there must be a dialog box buried. This is a Macbook Pro, all updated through 10.6.8. I have this same printer in an older non wireless version and it scans just fine.

I have a D110 Photosmart printer purchased in 2010 when I purchased a new iMac. It will not scan, Scan Error, Try scan from computer or see documentation. is the error I receive. I tried the solution posted below to uninstall and then install new software.
Any suggestions?
Ed
