Please help if anybody experience or knows this issue before.

I always have this issue when scanning in 600 dpi. it cause my entire mac system unresponsive, such that I need to reset the system by hard reset (press and hold the power button).

The system become unresponsive after a few minute the scan progress bar appear on the application window.

I am using hp Scan application to scan to my mac and save the scanned image in either jpeg or pdf.

Thank you.

Hello,

Thank you for contacting  HP.

600 DPI scan is a Very High resolution scan and hece needs high amount on Memory and Processor Speed. Thus at times if we scan at this DPI, complete processor will be occupied just with One Work which is scanning , and it goes running in the Background.

Until it is completed in the Background, the progress bar does not show up.

For Scanning Documents, we would recommend you to use a Max of 300 dpi, which is ideal.

Alternate way of Scanning...

Click on the Apple Icon at the Top left corner

1) Go to System Preferences

2) Open Printers and Scanners

3) Select the Scan Tab

4) Observe there will a location at the bottom left of the new screen which shows where the scan will be saved

5) Click on Scan and the Document will be saved in the same folder.

Although I am an HP employee, I am speaking for myself and not for HP.
