Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

my HP smart app stopped working after I closed it.  I tried to reinstall the app but I get an error  Code: 0x803F8003. My printer uses a wireless connection and the network configuration page says there are no problems. I have rebooted my laptop (twice) as suggested and still it won't install. This happened yesterday too but eventually it allowed me to install it. It worked until I closed it out. I believe the error code when it stopped working was just something like you can't access it now check with the store. Of course the store said I had it installed and that is when I uninstalled and tried to reinstall. The printer software that came with the printer works fine but I have a lot of scanning to do and the All in one remote App works better.

Here's what you should do first:

 

1) make sure all Win Updates are run

2) right click HP Smart and Uninstall

3) go to Win Store and Install HP Smart

 

If the problem persists, email us directly and we can help you capture some log files. Thanks!

On which device are you trying to install HP Smart App.

 

Meanwhile:

 

Click here and refer the document to install and use HP Smart App.

I was trying to install on my Lenovo Yoga 3.  It did automatically install at some point. I am afraid to close out the app though because this has happened 2 days in a row. Once I close it then it no longer works and it doesn't want to install again. Both times it just randomly installed when I wasn't looking!

I see that you were interacting with @sandytechy20. I'd like to jump in with a suggestion 🙂

 

Let's try the steps below to try and fix the issue:

 

  1. First off, uninstall the HP Smart App from the Android device.
  2. Now, go to Settings - About Phone - System Updates - Make sure all the updates are updates.
  3. Restart the Android device.
  4. Now, go to the Play Store and then reinstall the HP Smart App.
  5. Again, go to Settings - Apps - Select HP Smart App.
  6. Select Permissions - Make sure all the Permissions are turned on for the HP Smart App.
  7. Now, try scanning.

First off i was unable to install on my Lenovo Yaga PC which was in the thread somewhere. This has been a very frustrating and dissapointing experience as far as customer service goes. It is currently installed as I also mentioned before. I don't know why it finally worked but I am not closing out the program unti I finish my project.
