HP Office Jet 4652
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Everything had been working fine. All of a sudden it won't print in color. Existing cartridge indicated half full. Installed new cartridge, same result. Only black and white. I check all settings and they're normal. Tried printing both PDF and Word docs.

@Beau2

Welcome to HP Support Forums. 🙂 I came across your post and would like to help.

I understand that your HP OfficeJet 4652 All-in-One Printer does not print in color anymore. The printer is able to print in black and white. You have replaced the color cartridge and the printer still is unable to print in color. I appreciate the steps you have performed and have certainly done a good job.

To provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • Are you using original HP cartridges or refilled cartridges?
  • Is the printer able to make a color copy?

Meanwhile, I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix:

  • Disconnect the power cable from the printer while the printer is still ON.
  • Disconnect any other cables if connected the printer.
  • Press and hold the printer’s power button for 15 seconds.
  • The printer should be directly connected to the wall outlet and not to a surge protector. Reconnect the power cable to print and the printer should power ON by itself. If the printer doesn’t power ON then please manually power it ON.

Please manually clean the ink cartridges as described in "Step 12" of this link.

Also, clean the electrical contacts inside the printer (cartridge holder) where the cartridge fits in.

I sincerely hope this fixes the issue. Let me know the outcome. Cheers! 🙂
