I have a problem connecting my replacement HP8600 to my desktop wirelessly so that I can scan and print documents.

What do I need to do on the printer to pick up the wireless connection?

Very simple instructions much appreciated!

Many thanks

Re: HP8600

Hi HenryCharles,

I see by your post that you would like to setup the replacement printer on the network.
I can help you with this.

Power cycle the router.

You will need to know the following:

  • Network name: The network name is the SSID.
  • WEP key or WPA security passphrase.

On the printer's display, go to setup, network and select wireless setup wizard to configure the printer on the network.

Then click the Windows icon (), click All Programs, click HP, click the folder for your printer and then click the icon for your printer. The printer software opens.
Click Printer Setup & Software Selection.
Select add a device or connect a new printer.
Test the printer.
If you need further assistance, let me know.
Have a nice day!
Thank You.
