How do I clean the printhead contacts?  Where are they located?

How do I clean or replace the printhead (printheads?) and how do I get to them?

The troubleshooting steps in the document here may help resolve the printhead error on your Officejet 6700 printer.  Unfortunately the printhead in the Officejet 6700 is not user serviceable, if the reset steps shown do not resolve the issue you would need to contact HP for service.

I tried the HP first suggested solutions to no avail.

Interestingly,  I had this message previously and then later..I was able to print.

Just before I got that "Printhead not found", I had printed a document.

I am wondering if Printers can be hacked.

In addition to the HP standard messages to turn the printer on, unplug it for 60 seconds, replug to wall and printer..I had previously also disconnect my wifi and shut down the modem.   Previously all of this eventually allowed me to print.

As to cleaning printhead contacts....not sure where they are?

Wondering if HP does this so you have to buy another printer?

There are not any contacts accessible on the printhead for the Officejet 6700.

It would hardly be in HP's interest to design in a feature on purpose that would cause printers to stop functioning, annoying their customers to no end and causing them to have to get service or buy a new printer.....
