How order printing from Laptop

My Dell Inspiron E1505 on Windows XP is wirelessly connected to my Dell Desktop Dimension E-310 (Windows XP), which is hard wired to the HP Officejet 6310 All-In-One.  What is the procedure to enable printing from the Laptop through the Desktop to the printer?

Well, I have a better answer than the Windows printer sharing you are attempting.  Windows printer sharing can be difficult and is often not reliable.  Also, it only shares printing, not scanning or faxing.

The right way to do this is to connect your printer to your wireless router via an Ethernet cable.  Then add the printer (as a network printer) to each computer.  Now there is no sharing, every PC can use all functions of the printer and it works great.

I am employed by HP
