I am haing print quality issues.  Horizontal streaks.  Printer cartridge says half full of ink.  Trying to print the Print Quality Diagnostics Page.  HP web site says that can be done from the printer UI touch screen.  Setup > Reports > Print Quality Diagnostics.  No such report option exists.  Ugh!  On my way to take back yet another HP printer!

When was the last time the printer was working fine?

The printer has been working fine for the first 3 months I ahve own it.  I usually print 2-3 times per month (not high volume).  I used the printer two weeks ago.

Have you made any software or hardware changes on the computer?

No.

Have you performed any troubleshooting steps before posting?

I printed a few test pages.

Checked the ink levels using the HP software.  ( I am using HP cartridges)

Removed both cartridges.  Wiped off the contact points to ensure there wasnt any debris ink clog the cartridge.

Replaced the paper inside the printer.

i allowed the printer to rest - unplugged, came back in an few hours.  Same results.

The next step was to print a diagnotics page and determine what adjustments are needed.  I have been unable to determine how to print a Diagnostics Page.  HP software and HP website all take to dead ends.  There were instructions on teh HPweb site that pointed me towards the report menu within the printer UI.  There is no option to print a diagnostics page.

Support Website you sent me - ( I visited before posting)

Reached this section:

If your printout contains horizontal lines or other print quality issues besides vertical streaks, continue to the next step.

The next steps are items I already tried and about making adjustments in the printer software.  Did not help

I am stuck here :Print a Print Quality Diagnostic report

Hi @jcb-123

Thank you so much for the detailed information.

Follow below steps to print a print quality report.

  1. Load U.S. Letter or A4 size, unused, plain white paper into the input tray.

  2. On the printer control panel, swipe the display to the left, and then touch Setup (). The Setup menu displays.

  3. Touch Reports, and then touch Print Quality Report. A Print Quality Diagnostic page prints.

Refer to the below link for more information.
