Product: Deskjet 1050
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

8th May 2017.  I recently bought and installed a new black and a new colour cartridge about 2 weeks ago (not original HP manufacture but an accredited aftermarket supplier).  They worked perfectly up until a few days ago.  I have only printed a half dozen pages of text but both now both orange warning lights are now blinking on the front of the printed, the printer refuses to print saying that the cartridges are either damaged, empty or not installed.  I have exhaustively gone through all the permutations of cleaning and reinstalling.

HP Recommended

Try replacing the cartridges with HP cartridges to see if that resolves your issue.
