I have a print cartridge error with my HP PSC 1315 all-in-one.

Though the inklevel should be sufficient only the colour cartridge HP 57 shows so where as the b&w HP 56 doesn't. I found out that the date on both cartridges have already been expired. Read on the internet that in such a case the printer will be automatically blocked. Replacing both cartridges by new ones will not change the situation. So in fact the printer is ready for the junkshop and buying a new printer the only solution. Is that TRUE...!!??

Hi,

 

If expired cartridges are present in printer, the printer will not be blocked but error message\light will be displayed to replace cartridge.

If expired cartridges are replaced with new ones the issue should be fixed.

I have a print cartridge error with my HP PSC 1315 all-in-one.

Went to town yesterday but both cartridges 56 & 57 nowhere to get in this part of SEA where I live. Will visit my home country in Europe next month where it is easy to get and will buy there.

I have a print cartridge error with my HP PSC 1315 all-in-one.

First of all, thanks to all to contributed to this forum.

 

Hopefully someone can help me understand how this HP world works.

 

I purchased 2 genuine HP cartridges for my all in one 1315 at an absurd price.  This machine is several years old and still in impeccable shape.

 

I have only used this machine for scanning.  I only printed once or twice with new cartridges for the initialization process.

 

These cartridges have expired last month and this morning the machine will not print.

 

Are you telling me I have to buy a brand-new cartridges to use the scanning function on this machine?  So in a matter of terms, I have to write a check twice a year to HP and simply throw out the unused still new cartridges?

Check ink cartridge indicator is flashing.
