I have downloaded all possible drivers and firmware from H.P site and printer is working fine except no color but scanner is not going and according to a Dr.H.P fixit scan I have no scanner drivers which is confirmed when I check device manager properties. I had previously had Vista 32 bit and had a H.P solutions center on the desktop which I could scan etc but now with windows 10 64 bit only the printer works if only in black mode.

@zikarli9

Welcome to HP Forums,

This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips,

Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out 🙂

As I understand the printer works as it prints black only and the scanner doesn't work,

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

Did you ensure the printing preferences isn't set to grayscale?

Did you check for any other HP Forum posts to help resolve your concern?

If you haven't, Here's a related HP Forums post that seems to have helped others: Click here for the steps.

Also, check that you are using the HP PPD and not Apple's generic PPD.  You can check that by opening System Preferences, select "Print & Fax", double-click the printer in the list on the left, from the windows that opens select "Printer Setup", and in that sheet select the "Driver" tab.  If it says "Print using: Generic PostScript Printer", the easiest way to fix it is to delete your print queue and add the printer again.

Keep me posted for further assistance 😉
