I just purchased a OFFICE JET PRO 6978 and It will only print PDF files

HP Recommended
Office jet Pro 6978
Microsoft Windows Vista (64-bit)

I have loaded the software twice now and each time I have only the ability to print PDF files. I also ran the HP scan and nothing has changed.

I understand that you are able to print only pdf files from your HP OfficeJet Pro 6978 All-in-One Printer.

 

This issue could occur if the drivers are not configured properly.

 

Let's go through a few steps to troubleshoot this issue.

Step 1: Uninstall the Drivers:

Please follow the steps provided to uninstall the printer software in the link: Uninstalling the Printer Software (Windows)

 

Step 2: Download and install the Drivers from the link: Basic Driver

 

Step 3: Update the firmware from the link: Firmware Update
