I have gone to the suggested website and downloaded the software/drivers but it still is not working 😞 i get an error that states ...
HP Solution Center cannot run because your device installation is not complete.
Please plug in the USB cable or re-run the setup program from the installation CD for a network installation.
If this does not complete the installtion, or you do not have the CD, access the HP help files by clicking the Start menu.
After i have downloaded the suggested from the website, it states it cannot finish because the software is already on my computer ? I have done everything except for the CD, because i lost it and it is still not working .. when i try to order one it does not give me a specific disk, it gives me a a "generic" disk but i want one specific to my machine ..

Please read this post then provide some details. What printer model? The Photosmart c4200 is the series of printer rather than a specific model. You might find some additiona model information on the back of the printer on the same sticker as the serial number. What operating system? Do you have a 32 bit or 64 bit version?
With this information it should be possible to give you a direct link to the file you need.

First identify what printer model you have. Next find your operating system , including whether you have a 32 bit or 64 bit version? Now click here and enter your printer model, then select the detailed model from the list. Next select "Software and Drivers", then enter the appropriate operating system. Finally, download the driver and run the installation package. For USB connected printers the USB cable should not be plugged into the printer until the installer instructs you to connect.
If you have Windows 7 there is a tool available here for finding the best driver.

Same problem here with my HP Officejet 5610v All In One..
I put up a post which is already lost for me. The diagnostic don't even mention this type. Had 3 years, but hardly used! Loved how it worked ...just want it back on this new computer.

my printer is HP Deskjet Ink Advantage K209a (Print Scan Copy), i laso lost my installation cd so i tried downloading the driver installation file. i have both downloaded successfully the full and basic installation file but upon extraction, it displays error message of "Cannot open output file" and aborts extraction. What does this mean? So now, basically my printer works just because of the plug and play driver installation, but when i need to scan/copy, i cannot, because i do not have the full application. where can i get the full working driver installation? my OS is windows XP 32-bit. TIA.
