OfficeJet Pro 8625
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

My OfficeJet Pro 8625 is just over a year old.  When the original cartridges recently ran out, I replaced them with an aftermarket set.  I have not been happy with the ink, so purchased genuine HP cartidges.  The HP950XL cartridge shows as incompatible (the 3 951XL cartridges are fine).  As of now, I have had to resort to continue using the aftermarket cartridge as it is the only one that will be accepted.  I have followed all of the steps to resolve the issue, but they do not work.  What can I do to fix the issue?

Hi @JimmyK69,

Welcome to HP Forums, this is a great place to get support, find answers and tips.

Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you.

I understand that you get an "incompatible ink cartridge" error message on your HP Officejet Pro 8625 e-All-in-One Printer.

This issue could occur if the electrical contacts on the cartridge or the printer are defective.

Let's go through a few steps to troubleshoot this issue.

And here's the step by step guide for you in the link: Ink Cartridge Errors

Let me know how this works.

You have a good day ahead.
