HP Photosmart DUO SD MMC

Warning notice says The Printhead installed is not intended for use in this printer or is damaged. The Printhead has never been changed and how can it get damaged? Can I fix this problem?

@NIreland

Welcome to HP Forums,

This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips,

Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out 🙂

As I understand you have an error message - "Incompatible Printhead",

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

Did you attempt to perform a hard reset?

Did you check for any other HP Forum posts to help resolve your concern?

If you haven't, Here's a related HP Forums post that seems to have helped others: Click here for the steps.

Steps to Perform Reset on the printer:

  1. Press the Power button to turn off the printer.
  2. Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.

  3. Wait 60 seconds.

  4. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.

  5. Press the Power button to turn on the printer.

  • If these steps resolved the issue, you do not need to continue troubleshooting.

  • If the issue persists, continue to the next solution.

If the issue persists, Contact HP for a replacement part:
