The printer will not recognize a new HP Light Cyan cartridge. We have installed two new cartridges from different suppliers and it reads them as empty and blocks all printing. I have swabbed the cartridge and the matching sensors with a q-tip, to no avail. I am not getting a printer head error. Any suggestions?

Just to clarify, it does not give any error message it just shows the light cyan as empty?
Since you have already cleaned the contacts on the cartridge and printer I would recommend pulling out all of ink cartridges, removing the power cord from both ends and let the printer sit for 60 seconds or so.
After 60 seconds plug the printer back in and turn it back on and then insert the cartridges one at a time and see if it reads the light cyan.
If that doesn't help you may need to give us a call and see what options we have available for you.
