What printer model? Many printers have an uninstall utility in the x:\util\ccc (where x: is your CD drive) on the installation CD.  A similar uninstaller can be found in the downloadable installer.  Look for files uninstall_L1.bat through uninstall_L4.bat.  Running the first three of these will remove the HP installation, including "extras".  It is not recommended to run the uninstall_L4.bat file, especially if you have an HP computer.  The uninstall_L4.bat file may remove things that are needed.

Depending on your printer model you may also find an uninstaller in Start, All Programs, HP, (your printer model).

Printer is Photosmart 309a.

The uninstall utility is where you said it would be.

The reason I'm asking is that there seems to be a conlflict with Officejet 4500, meaning that I can't finish setup on the Officejet because Setup is looking for a file, which I browsed to, but Setup for the Officejet still couldn't finish.

If I knew how, I would accept the answer you gave on the uninstall utility, and kudos.

I have a post titled "Can Photosmart 309a and Officejet 4500 coexist peacefully?"

This problem has been bugging us for ages and this solution worked like a dream - ran the uninstall_L1.bat through uninstall_L3.bat and reinstalled all HP software and the problem has been fixed. Thanks
