Laserjet 1022 MS Office unable to connect

HP Recommended

I am running WIndows 7.  When I try to print from any MS Office program, I get an "Unable to connect"  message. I can print from a browser or other apps. I backed out of a couple of recent Windows updates because that worked before but it does not now. I have rinstalled MS Office and the HP driver but it still cannot connect.  What can I do?

Thanks.

Hi JMVA,

Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!

I understand you are unable to print from MS Office but can print from other applications.

I will be happy to help you.

The application you are using might require the printer to be set as the default printer and probably doesn't have the ability to search for other printers.

You could contact the software manufacturer to see if they have a patch or some useful information to provide you with if the steps below don't work.

Close the application.

Set the printer as the default printer.

Go to start, devices and printer, right click on the printer and left click on set as default.

Restart the computer.

Open the application and try printing again.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for posting on the HP Forums.
Have a nice day!

Unfortunately that did not fix it. I now also have an error message that Print Driver 32-bit host is not working, which is strange because my PC is 64 bit.

Hi JMVA,

Thank You for providing that information.

I would restart the print spooler,  uninstall and reinstall the printer software again.

It sounds like the driver might be corrupted.

Disconnect the USB cable from the printer.

Here are the steps to run the uninstall from the computer:

Go start and select computer.
Select the C drive.
Select program files or program files x86.
Open the HP and printer name folder.
Select uninstall.

Restart the print spooler.

Click on start, type admin in the Search programs and files box, and then click Administrative Tools from the list.
Double-click Services.
Right-click Print Spooler and left click properties.
Click Stop to stop the Print Spooler.
Click Start to restart the Print Spooler.

Restart the computer.

Download, save and then run the installation again.

HP LaserJet Full Feature Software and Driver.

Please let me know if this resolved the issue or if you need further assistance.

Thank You.
