I am running WIndows 7. When I try to print from any MS Office program, I get an "Unable to connect" message. I can print from a browser or other apps. I backed out of a couple of recent Windows updates because that worked before but it does not now. I have rinstalled MS Office and the HP driver but it still cannot connect. What can I do?
I would restart the print spooler, uninstall and reinstall the printer software again.
It sounds like the driver might be corrupted.
Disconnect the USB cable from the printer.
Here are the steps to run the uninstall from the computer:
Go start and select computer. Select the C drive. Select program files or program files x86. Open the HP and printer name folder. Select uninstall.
Restart the print spooler.
Click on start, type admin in the Search programs and files box, and then click Administrative Tools from the list. Double-click Services. Right-click Print Spooler and left click properties. Click Stop to stop the Print Spooler. Click Start to restart the Print Spooler.
Restart the computer.
Download, save and then run the installation again.
