I thought I had posted this earlier but I guess not. Many thanks for giving me the solution to the printer problem that had been vexing me ALL DAY! It was the advice about selecting my printer from the dropdown rather that what I thought the computer had selected as the correct one, the LTP1. Thanks, thanks thanks!
