Re: Laserjet Pro 500 MFP - M570dw

If there is just one line, there is likely marker smeared on the scan glass.  Life the lid, so you can see the glass and the left side you will see a thin strip of glass which you should look at for smudges and try to clean.

If there are multiple lines, the scan head is likely scanning in the wrong location and you'll need to recalibrate the side 2 scanner.  The call center will need to walk you through that.

does issue occur on both scan and copy?

if issue also occur on copy, could be an firmware issue, suggest to upgrade to the latest firmware version, you can access below link to download the firmware

Re: Laserjet Pro 500 MFP - M570dw

Hi Juaniyo,

This issue is not related to Flatbed scanner glass because you dont have issue while scanning in simplex.

Please print configuration page and check the firmware date code if it is older than please upgrade latesh firmware detail are mention below

  1. Turn the printer Off and then On , and then wait until it arrives at a ready state.

If there is an error message displayed on the control panel, resolve the error first. If the error message persists, see Method three: Update firmware using a USB flash drive - Preboot menu .
  2. Open a Web browser, and in the address field, type the printer IP address exactly as it appears on the Configuration Page and then press Enter .

The Embedded Web Server (EWS) opens.

1: Example of an IP address in a browser window

  3. Click the General tab.

  4. In the left pane, click Firmware Upgrade , and then click Browse .

If an “administrator password must be set" warning displays, click the Security tab, click the General Security option in the left pane, and then under the Set the Local Administrator password section, reset the password.
  5. Browse to the location where the firmware files were extracted, select the .bdl file, click Install , and then wait for the update process to complete.

Do not close the browser window until the HP Embedded Web Server (EWS) displays the confirmation page.
  6. On the EWS confirmation page, select Restart Now , or turn the product Off and then On again.

The printer will NOT automatically reboot. To ensure a successful firmware update, make sure to reboot the printer.
  7. After the printer or MFP is back online, verify that the new firmware version is installed.

You can view the Firmware Revision and Datecode under the Device Information section of the Configuration page found in Printable Reports and Pages on the Information tab of the EWS.
please find the link below to download firmware
