Loading fonts in printer

I presently use a laserjet 1100 and laserjet 1300.   I load fonts in my printer 30x50 dots.  If I but a new hp Laserjet printer

(e.g. HP Laserjet Pro P1102W or one that faxes and scans) will I still be able to load fonts in the printer?

Re: Loading fonts in printer

I'm assuming that "I load fonts in my printer" implies that you are downloading PCL5 soft fonts to the device.

If so, then newer LaserJet printers which also support PCL5 should be able to use those same downloaded fonts.

Just steer clear of the 'host-based' devices (which don't support PCL5).

Re: Loading fonts in printer

Thanks.   And thank you for the  phrase "PCL5".  I bought the manual PCL5 Printer Language

technical reference manual but once I wrote the programs that loads  my fonts I forgot

it all and it was 20 years ago.

        Thanks, again
