Officejet 5300 Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

When I turn on the printer it makes a loud noise like a machine gun.  It seems like the noise is coming from the side where the cartridges are held.  What should I do?

Welcome to the HP Forums. I would be happy to help with your HP Officejet 5300 Printer. I understand that it makes loud noise when you try to print.

Perform a hard reset on the printer.

  • Remove the power cable from the printer when it is turned on.
  • Press and hold the power button for 60secs.
  • Connect the power cable to the printer and directly to the wall outlet.

Click here and follow the document for more troubleshooting steps.

Let me know how it goes.

Cheers.
